Mythology and folklore was at the heart of Pre-Raphaelite painting. The artists of this movement looked to medieval tales of chivalric nights, romantic tales, and spellbinding sorcery for artistic inspiration.

Join us this Halloween to learn more about the witches depicted by the Pre-Raphaelites. What can we learn about attitudes to women and the place of medieval tales in the Victorian period from these works? Sarah Hardy, Director of the De Morgan Museum, will explore some of these themes in this spooky season online lecture.
