Description:

This seahorse design is a very early example of De Morgan’s work, and produced at his Chelsea pottery. The matt surface decoration has much in common with William Morris’s ceramic production techniques of the same period. The tile is in poor condition with a repaired corner and multiple chips and damage to the edge of the tile.
