Ruby Lustre earthenware inverted pear shaped bottle with a long neck. Decorated in red lustre with darker red leaves against which are three crested herons looking backwards. Wading birds were a typical motif for De Morgan, who enjoyed the possibilities that contorting their long legs and necks into sinuous patters could offer.
The bottle is marked on the base with the word Fulham and the decorators initials J.J.
